St Mary’s Church supports Homeless Care in Maidstone. Founded in 1986 as Maidstone Christian Care, Homeless Care now runs a Day Centre, Godsell House for homeless men and a food bank – Food for Thought.
Matt Lamb, the Day Centre Manager writes:
Our food bank, Food for Thought, has been frantically busy during the Coronavirus Pandemic and we have been purchasing additional supplies that we would not usually receive as donations (meat and cheeses) to make our food parcels the most balanced and nutritious as possible. We are fortunate enough to be able to purchase in trays of this food at a heavily discounted rate, meaning that £3 can top up between 10 – 20 food parcels with these additional items.
We have been buying this food in for approximately 10 months and provide on average between 200 – 300 food parcels every month, so all financial contributions help us to continue to provide this level of service.
